Dunny Cove
Dunny Cove is inspired by the mud and sandstones of the coastline around the Ardfield area of Co. Cork.
Denis and I like to kayak this piece of coastline that shelters us from the prevailing South Westerly winds under her East facing buffs and golden sandy coves. This area is visually unusual as the as the ochre and iron tones of the mudstones give rise to a unique geology of red and purple cliffs with water sculpted formations, most notable is a sea arch that adds a primordial fragility to the area.
Description: Stoneware bellied form. Marbled stoneware base with coloured clay inclusions, sandy textured body. Contains found native clay from Dunny Cove on the sweeping rim.
Size: 28cm tall x 67cm circumference at the belly.
