N’hoval Cove is a primordial diamond of a cove south Cork City, between Fish Point and Reanes Point. Difficult to access by car the dramatic cove is surrounded by iron and ochre friable sandstones in towering crumbling cliffs. Exploring the Sea arches and small beaches around the cove, leads to found objects in the form of lump clay present themselves. I sieve and clean this clay, calcify it and use in slip form. This native clay is incorporated into the sculptural vessels such creating texture and a deep sense of place. The sweeping form of the vessel emulates the creative and destructive forces of wind and salt water evident in the environment at N’hoval Cove.

Created in three sizes, small, medium and large each vessels is a bespoke creation unique to each making session.
